Weight loss motivation is a BIG problem, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. The problem may seem IMPOSSIBLE. This is part 3 of our 8-part series exploring the 7 most vexing issues facing people trying to stick to a weight loss plan and offering the solutions that got me out of a weight loss plateau. What is the BIGGEST problem killing thousands of people’s motivation to lose weight? Problem 2: I don’t have time to prepare healthy meals! No.1 Weight Loss Solution – AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I COMPLETELY sympathize with you if the last thing you want to do is slave over a hot stove after a 10 hour (or more) workday. But even if you work multiple jobs and need to eat out or order takeout for almost every meal, there’s no excuse for eating poorly. We live in the 21st century and in one of the richest countries in the world. Almost every type of food available is very close to many of us who live in the city and even semi-rural areas these days. There are options, and we need to carefully consider the cost of constantly choosing foods that rob us of our weight loss solutions. SCARY FACT: It is possible to buy takeaway food EVERY DAY of the week and still lose weight.
As I did? I stuck to the plan I have outlined below. The secret to losing weight has to do with small portions, light and healthy meals and WHAT TO AVOID! Top 4 Types of Food to AVOID When Buying Takeout Food:
Fried foods are everywhere. Burgers, fish and chips, chicken, spring rolls, etc. the list goes on! But have you noticed that your local sandwich shop offers chicken salad, whole wheat wraps, salads with whole wheat bread…there’s more to it than you think? Anything steamed, grilled, or baked instead of fried will make a BIG difference in your fat intake.
- AVOID EXTRAS LIKE SAUCES AND TOPPINGS
That cheesy chicken schnitzel with Parmigiana sauce might make your day, but it won’t make your weight-loss solutions come true. Other weight loss killers include butter, sour cream, full cream yogurts, mayonnaise, tartar sauce, and relish. The general guideline is to avoid extras based on sugars and dairy. The worst thing is that we often underestimate the effects of these elements in our weight loss solutions. We thought “they are so small, how can they affect the overall result?” Let me tell you, in the past I have been guilty of eating a whole carton of sour cream with a bowl of wedges and it adds up a lot! Avoid these extras entirely, and if you can’t, be very mindful of how much you’re using.
- AVOID LARGE PORTIONS AND GAINS
It’s very tempting when the largest size is only 50 cents more, but the number of calories you’re adding can be much more costly to your diet than a measly 50 cents! The best advice anyone has ever given me is “you have to learn to say NO”. Food servers are trained to ask you to increase the size. They are just doing their job. They won’t be in the slightest offended if you say no. It won’t seem rude or silly, especially if you add a “thank you” to that “no.” Don’t be afraid to say it. No one forces you to say “yes”.
- AVOID SUGAR AND DAIRY BASED ALCOHOLS
After you’ve had too many drinks, calorie concerns go overboard. Irish cream and milk may taste great, but all that milk and the sweet Irish cream itself is loaded with all the wrong things if you have too much of it. If you must drink, choose a low-carb beer or dry wine (preferably red). Diet sodas aren’t ideal, but they are preferable to their sugar-filled soda counterparts. There is nothing better than a nice glass of cold filtered water. It tastes great and you can enjoy it however you like!
HELP! How can I ease the bread? Don’t let your motivation to lose weight wane if constant hunger gets you down. An adjustment period is normal when you are embarking on a major lifestyle change.
Many people turn to an appetite suppressant called Hoodia to help them through this adjustment period. This natural dietary supplement is a form of Hoodia Cactus that is famous for its ability to suppress hunger and thirst. Hoodia has been used by the Bushmen of South Africa for hundreds of years to suppress appetite during long hunting trips through the Kalahari desert.
Hoodia has the effect of tricking your brain into thinking you’re full. It has allowed thousands of Americans to control their food cravings and not feel the physical agony of hunger pangs by eating smaller meals. It will allow you to get used to lighter, healthier meals and is a fantastic way to kick start your diet or really start to see success on your diet if you haven’t made any real progress before.
It’s not a miracle. You will still need to have mental motivation to lose weight, but physical adjustment difficulties will be much easier to overcome when using Hoodia. The weight loss battle was turned upside down when hoodia was discovered in 2003 and, for many people, it was the breakthrough that allowed them to finally experience the elusive weight loss solution. There are many hoodia extracts you can choose from, from tablets to capsules, liquids, and even patches, but BEWARE.
CAVEAT: Some Hoodia supplements contain little or no real Hoodia. Hoodia is very rare and many companies sell fake Hoodia products to take advantage of the popularity of this product as a weight loss solution.
Unless you plan on losing your money instead of your pounds, there are 3 things you absolutely must AVOID when buying Hoodia supplements! These clues on a manufacturer’s website will help you identify scammers and which products to stay away from.
