There’s never been a better time to buy an Xbox 360 console, especially with VAT reduced and deals plentiful at major retailers, but what are the games no kid, little or big, can live without?
1) Call of Duty: World at War £40
The Call of Duty series has seen great success through the reincarnations of the games in the different guises, but this one goes back to basics with the WWII theme. Amazing graphics as expected, but online play has improved a lot for all online gamers. The story mode has been expanded and can take you from the fighting in Japan to the Russian winters and the Western Front. What every gamer needed after their stuffed turkey.
2) Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise £50ish
The papier-mâché denizens of the garden are back with more mayhem and wacky antics and while originally intended for kids, more serious gamers have often held a torch to these bizarre piñatas featuring more of the same mischief-based tasks.
3) I count 2 £50
A tale of two games! On the one hand, Fable 2 is a typical RPG with the action-adventure sequences you’d expect from such a game, but it has a more intriguing complex side with deeper explorations of the human psyche. This game may not surprise you instantly, but it will get better the more you play it.
4) Scene? Smash locker £35
A Christmas classic with a fun setting for the whole family competing for the last meatloaf after several glasses of wine, a Christmas must. This is an improvement over last year’s scene as it has been licensed and has many more visual and audio clips from all your favorite movies.
5) Gears of War 2 £50
Gears of War is an amazing and mind blowing epic that most true gamers love and Gears of War 2 only enhances the experience in every possible level. The single player option has been lengthened in the main campaign and is more intense and satisfying, but the improvement in multiplayer is incredible and worth checking out.
Happy gaming!
