This technique is from NLP and will help you access confidence whenever you need to feel more secure. Clients in the past have found this technique really useful when making presentations.

1. The Situation. First think of a situation in which you would like to feel better and more resourceful. Draw an imaginary circle on the ground in front of you. Make it into a generous circle about three feet in diameter.
2. Revive confidence. Stand up and let yourself be carried away by your memory at a time when you were very confident, very confident. Come back to it hard; look what you saw and hear what you heard. Notice what you are feeling and how good it feels to relive that moment…
3. In the Circle. As you feel the transition from confidence building to COE, what color would you like the circle to be? Would you like it to have a soft buzzing sound that indicates how powerful it is? How is the sound? How does it feel? Are you relaxed, excited, strong? How is your posture and breathing right now? Notice the position of your feet and hands, the tilt of your head. When the feeling of confidence is at its highest, step out of the circle, leaving those positive feelings, colors, and sounds inside the circle. Break state.
4. Repeat the exercise with a second experience if you want to add more resource states to the circle or if the circle doesn’t feel strong enough. repeat as many times as necessary. The circle is limitless and you can keep adding more confidence and power resources to the circle over time.
5. Selection of signals. Now think of a specific time in the future when you want to have that same feeling of super confidence. See and hear what will happen just before you want to feel safe. How will the scene unfold? What is the signal to know that it is almost time to take over as CEO? It could be opening an office door, going on stage or being introduced to an audience…
6. Enter the Circle of Excellence! Feel again the confidence there for you, the color of the sounds, the safe breathing and posture. Imagine the scene playing out exactly the way you want it too with all your feelings of trust and all the resources available to you.
7.Check results. Now step out of the circle again, leaving those feelings of trust in the circle. Outside of the circle, take a moment and think again about that upcoming event or situation. You will find that you will automatically remember those feelings of trust. This means that it has already been reprogrammed for the upcoming situation and it already feels better resources for it. When the time comes, you will naturally feel more confident, and if you want to add more power to those positive feelings, your circle of excellence is just one step away.
