Most men don’t realize how much weight they have to lose to see their full abs. In many cases, men sabotage their own weight loss efforts because they assume they will be able to see all their abs with too high a body weight.
If you want to see your abs, your goal should be how you look in the mirror and not your body weight. If you thought you’d see your abs at 180lbs, and you diet up to 180lbs and don’t see them…well, that just means you have to diet even lower to see them, plain and simple, no. magic trick for that.
How much you weigh on a scale doesn’t really matter, it’s the look that matters. You probably have a good idea of exactly how you’d like your body to look, but only a vague idea of how much you should weigh to look like that. But if you’ve never seen your full 6-pack before, I bet you’re assuming the weight is much higher than it actually is.
In other words, there is a specific body weight that you will weigh in order to have a full set of visible 6 pack abs. Then there will be a slightly higher body weight that you will have when only 4 of your abs are showing, and then an even higher weight when only 2 of your abs are showing, etc. Most guys will assume that a full six pack will be visible with bodyweight only showing 2 abs.
For some reason, we all think that we should be heavier than we really are.
The point is that your weight has a specific aspect. You will look a certain way when you are 150 pounds, and that particular appearance and thinness is different from the appearance you have when you are 160 pounds and then 170 pounds, and so on. You can’t force your body to look like 150 pounds when you’re 170 pounds.
In other words, if your entire 6-pack is visible only when you’re 150 pounds… then you can’t make it visible when you’re 170 pounds. It doesn’t mean you can’t be 170 pounds, it just means you have to accept that you won’t be as lean at 170 as you are at 150. (This may sound like a no-brainer, but a lot of guys assume they can be as skinny as they want at any bodyweight.) ).
Any bodybuilder who has done more than one show can tell you with a pound or two exactly how much he will weigh when he has a fully ripped 6 pack. He can also tell you when he’s 5 pounds away and when he’s 10 pounds away from a full visible 6-pack.
The only way you’ll know this is because you’ve been there before and you know how much you weighed the first time it happened. If he’s gained 5 pounds of muscle since his last bodybuilding show, he also knows that his 6-pack will be visible at 5 pounds more bodyweight than the last time he was visible. But he won’t know for sure until he’s back to dieting down to a visible 6-pack.
The point is, there’s no real way to know exactly how much you’ll weigh when your abs are fully visible until you can see them.
So how do you know how much you need to weigh to see your abs?
Simple:
Step 1) Lose weight until you can see your full 6 pack
Step 2) Get on a scale
You can use calculators and estimators all day, but the proof is in the mirror.
If you want to see your abs, forget about body weight and just diet until you can see them, chances are you are lighter than you expect.
