At my San Antonio Massage and Bodywork practice, I frequently receive calls from potential clients who are unclear on the differences between in-home massage sessions and in-home massage sessions. Some people, who have never received a massage, have no idea what the terms incall and outcall mean. Many are surprised that there is a price difference.
I will explain the differences between home and home massage sessions:
The Incall Massage is a massage that occurs in the office, salon or clinic of the Massage Therapist. The advantages of massage at home for the client are:
1. During the visiting massage session, the massage therapist can precisely control the temperature, lighting, and music used during the session to enhance your relaxation;
2. During the visiting massage session there are no ringing phones, no loud TVs, no blaring stereos;
3. During the massage session at home no one interrupts your massage… neither your children, spouse or employer;
4. All massage and bodywork techniques used by the massage therapist, including hot stone massage, are available during a visiting session;
5. The massage session at home is less expensive than a massage session at home.
Outcall Massage is a massage that takes place in your home, office or hotel room. In-home massage is also known as in-home massage, on-site massage, or mobile massage. The advantages of massage at home for the client are:
1. During a massage at home you are in your own familiar environment;
2. During an external massage, you may be around people or situations that may need to be monitored while you are getting a great massage;
3. While visiting a new city, an in-home massage session ensures you won’t get lost looking for the masseur’s location;
4. During an external massage, you can receive almost all of the same types of massages and bodywork that are available during an internal massage session;
5. After your home massage you don’t have to leave. There’s no need to travel, you can just sit still and let the relaxation sink in.
In general, there is a difference in price between massage at home and massage at home. In-home massage sessions allow the massage therapist to use their time more efficiently, thus being less expensive for the client. In-home massage sessions require the massage therapist to spend a significant amount of travel time and preparation time for the session. The extra travel and setup time is often enough to have seen an additional internal massage client…so external massage can cost up to twice the price of an internal massage.
Whether you choose an internal massage or an external massage, you’ll get a great massage. If you are in San Antonio, my massage and bodywork practice called Massage By Ben offers both internal and external massage sessions.
