Many people who are fearful of the prophetic shut down the prophetic entirely in their church. This is to despise the prophecies. Some of the larger churches in my city do not allow prophecy in their meetings. This is very sad. When you receive a personal prophecy, you shouldn’t throw it away if some of it doesn’t seem right. You just hold on to what’s good and save the rest for maybe another time. Keep reading…
Bill Hamon in his book Prophets and personal prophecy He says that out of 250,000 prophecies he received as a prophet, none of them were false. He said that most of the time what we think is false is something that can only be found to be true in the future. His suggestion is not to dismiss prophecies that seem meaningless and return to them from time to time. As a person who has only received about 150 prophecies in my life, I have to agree that his idea sounds more solid.
There is good enough in all the prophecies to give hope. Sure there are some flaky prophets out there, and yet if you go to a prophet who has to pay for a Word of Prophecy, you may have already failed. A person who charges for prophecy could be in serious error.
But if you have a couple of prophetic people in your church, there is nothing wrong with asking them if they would wait on the Lord for a word for you. Prophecy can really be a great thing to hold onto and lean on and, as Paul speaks to Timothy, to fight a good war by standing on it.
If you don’t think much of it when you get a prophecy, put it away in a safe place and come back to it in about six months. I just spent a considerable amount of money trying to advertise an event I want to host and it looks like my money was wasted. But this prophetic word came to me yesterday and it is the LORD saying that he is aware of my situation.
Mateo, I feel that the Lord wants to tell you that you are starting something new and that God’s favor is with you. His will is that you heed his call no matter the cost. His blessing is upon you and he sees everything that is happening. He knows everything, you have nothing to worry or fear. He is tired of false doctrines, he sees the purity in your heart and treasures it, it is something to behold. A light shines on him even in the midst of darkness. Be strong and brave because the Lord God is with you and he will fight for you.
This speaks so deeply to me and the new thing I’m doing. He says that I must heed the Lord’s call no matter the cost.
It is an incredible prophetic word. Bless you, Matthew Robert Payne
