You know the scenario: you join a show, you work hard to promote it, to get signups, and you feel like you’re hitting a brick wall. After a few months, you either give up and try something else, or you give up entirely.
Do you know what is missing? Active and helpful sponsors/uplines. Have you ever tried to email your upline, only to get NO response? It’s a horrible feeling. It makes you think “Why should I bother trying to help this guy make some money?”
Have you been in this situation? Or maybe you are guilty of being this type of patron? Either way, you have to read this:
I try to actively help anyone who signs up under me, no matter what. I always have, and in 4 years of marketing, I still have mostly the same loyal people who follow me on whatever show I show them.
It doesn’t matter if the show turns out to be a flop or the best thing in the world. Those people are with me all the time, and they are fantastic!
I try to promote their pages/shows, pass on subscriptions, etc. And at the risk of sounding smug: They love me for it! So even if one show fails, they follow me to the next, because they KNOW I’ll help in any way I can.
Email your upline if you need help with anything, let them know you’re having difficulties. Ask what you want. Trust me, it works wonders, and people are not mind readers.
If you don’t ASK for help, most will assume you’re doing it right. If you don’t get any support from your sponsor, go higher, even as high as the show owner if you must.
I’m pseudo-blonde with tech stuff, I asked a friend to help me build my ezine (he’s a programmer) and VOILA! website all built. So I am living proof: IT DOES help to ask.
DO NOT be a “dead” sponsor. Keep in touch with your signs regularly. Offer to help in any way you can, offer to trade tips, advice and information with them.
Search the net for some good e-books that you might find useful and pass them along. The free ones are the best for this purpose. (Just make sure you read the books yourself first, so you know they’re not rubbish)
Do you have any software that you use, that you find useful? Pass it on to those below you. Anything you found useful, please pass it on. Just remember to never, ever, ever spam your downlines with other things.
Send an email maybe twice a month, offering to help. Be sure to give them multiple ways to contact you, email, msn, yahoo messenger, just to name a few, and ALWAYS make time for them.
If someone asks you a question you can’t answer, you know what to do, right? Ask YOUR upline, don’t let them get any lazier. After all, they want YOU to help them make some money too, so ask them to help you out if you need it!
Bottom line: never be afraid to ask for or offer help. It works for me, and most of the people in my downlines now practice the same thing. Now go out and help each other, WORTH IT 🙂
