There are as many light-skinned myths as there are myths about ghosts and it’s time to debunk them. Every year modern science teaches us new things and disproves the myths we have been taught over the years. We all want to know how to have clear skin and that is why many popular misconceptions start. This article will debunk 3 myths we were taught about beautiful skin.
Chocolate will make pimples
We were always told that to have clear skin we would have to stay away from things like chocolate. This has been proven to be wrong and not only that, but we are now being told that diet doesn’t necessarily play a role at all in acne. Sure, a healthy diet of vegetables and other nutrient-dense foods can improve the appearance of your skin, but there’s no evidence that they help clear up acne. So before you decide to give up that chocolate, you should know that eating it won’t directly affect your skin.
Adults do not have acne.
When we were younger, our parents etc. always told us that our fight against acne would be over soon and once we reached adulthood, we would no longer be searching for the answers on how to have clear skin. Well I see a lot of adults who don’t have fair skin and even I in my adulthood have had a pimple or two so this is false. They used to think that since most acne was caused by hormones, once you got older the acne would stop. While it seems to get better for some people, it will probably be something they will have to deal with for the rest of their lives. So no, you’ll still be trying to figure out how to get fair skin as an adult.
Acne is caused by poor hygiene.
When we were kids, we were always under the impression that you would get acne from having dirty skin and not washing your face enough. While it’s true that washing your face can help you have clear skin by removing oils that build up in the layers of your skin, it’s not true that dirt causes acne. In fact, many people can get acne from rubbing their skin too much out of desperation while trying to figure out how to get clear skin.
Acne is a horrible experience as a teenager and it can get quite bad to the point that you may not want to set foot outside your house anymore. Being gentle with your skin and using the right skin cleansers is the way to get your best looking skin.
